Regional Products
The Belgian Ardennes are known as a region where the inhabitants enjoy nature, beautiful cities and above all life. They are true Burgundians. It is not for nothing that the most delicious delicacies come from this region. The main products are Ardennes ham and, perhaps the most famous, beer!
Belgian beer
In no other country is beer brewed with such diverse flavors and alcohol levels as in Belgium. Be sure to visit some of the brewers in the area such as Achouffe, Rulles and Millevertus.
Ardennes ham
The most delicious thing the Ardennes have to offer is Jambon d'Ardenne, or Ardennes ham. Especially the one made by the master butchers of Marcassou. You must have tasted it during your vacation.
Sheep's cheese
Highly recommended! At the sheepfold of Acremont (Bertrix) you can still taste the authentic taste of sheep cheese, made from sheep's milk. You can also buy various products here.
Trout
Trout is a well-known freshwater fish and is still found sporadically in the wild in streams in the Ardennes. You can prepare trout in various ways such as baking, grilling in the oven or on the barbecue.
Wild
During the hunting season (the months of October, November and December), there is plenty of game (French = gibier) on the menu in Ardennes restaurants. Taste it for yourself!
